The latest appointment of President Obama was Jose A. Rico, now Executive Director of the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanic Americans with the aim of improving the academic achievement of Hispanic students.
Jose became a senior adviser in the Office of Elementary and Secondary Education on April 29, 2009, and most recently served as the White House Initiative’s deputy director since Feb, 2010.
What’s troubling about this latest Obama appointee are his ties to Bill Ayers and fellow Communist Mike Klonsky, both of whom support the downfall of capitalism.
Rico attended public schools in Chicago and graduated from the Whitney Young Magnet High School where he won a scholarship to study mechanical engineering at the University of Illinois. He lost interest in engineering, and in 1993 changed to a career in education, becoming a science teacher at Chicago’s Latino Youth Alternative High School. In 1999 Jose was hired by the University of Illinois, Chicago’s Small Schools Workshop to help develop small, innovative learning communities in public schools.
Sounds good…but what is the Small Schools? The Small Schools was founded by a friend of Bill Ayers and fellow Weatherman from the 1960’s, Mike Klonsky.
In the Sixties, Klonsky the younger teamed with Ayers, Dohrn, Jones and other young radicals to form the Students for a Democratic Society. It was out of the SDS that Ayers, Dohrn and Jones helped found the Weatherman terrorist group. Upon splitting off from the SDS, Klonsky formed a Maoist organization, first known as the October League, which ultimately became the Communist Party (Marxist Leninist).
Klonsky is an unabashed communist whose current mission, today, is to spread Marxist ideology in the American classroom.
So what was a Leftist radical without a platform to do? Why, what else? Klonsky became an American college professor specializing in education.
After getting his doctorate, Klonsky eventually made his way to Chicago and hooked up with his old SDS comrade (and self-professed "small ‘c' communist") Bill Ayers. Together, they co-founded the Small Schools Workshop in 1991. The goal -- as Ayers has repeatedly made clear, most prominently in a 2006 speech before Hugo Chavez at an education forum in Caracas -- is to bring the same Leftist revolution that has always galvanized them into the classroom.
The agenda is to teach "social justice" that is, that America is a racist, materialist, imperialist cauldron of injustice and transform America into a totalitarian country.
So why was Jose Rico, who worked in the Small Schools for social justice and transformation of America, appointed, without opposition, to teach our children?
