Today, January 28, 2014, StarWars.com revealed a new character to the 37 year old franchise that is now owned by Disney. "Star Wars Rebels" is an upcoming "Star Wars" animated series that will debut later this year (Fall 2014) on Disney XD.

For those who are not familiar with this new show, it is slated to takes place between "Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith" and "Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope" at a time when the Galactic Empire is securing its grip on the galaxy and hunting down the last of the Jedi Knights. The first character, the villain name The Inquisitor was revealed this past October at New York Comic-Con and today via StarWars.com, we find out the first astromech droid of the series, Chopper (C1-10P).

Chopper is described as a lazy, cranky, and goodhearted and will be part of the crew member of the Ghost. According to this article at StarWars.com "The design of Chopper, a.k.a. C1-10P, takes cues from early Ralph McQuarrie concept art for R2-D2, especially the expressive arms that fold out of his head. Chopper's retro look creates an aesthetic continuity with droids of the original trilogy."

Like almost every "Star Wars" character, Chopper will have a 3 3/4 Toy by Hasbro in an upcoming wave of "Star Wars Rebels" saga legends action figures. Check out the video to your left debuting the character and look for more information on him, and other characters, as they are revealed in 3 weeks at the New York International Toy Fair.
