Can't get out on February 14? Think about a late Valentine's Day dinner at Biaggi's Ristorante Italiano on Thursday, February 17, 2011. If you don't know Biaggi's (up north at the Promenade), it's time you did. This is a chain with a big-city Italian restaurant feel, complete with sophisticated bar, wine-filled tasting (party) room and comfortable, spacious white-tablecloth dining room. Welcoming atmosphere and a diverse menu makes for a worthwhile night out.
If, by chance you're on your own, pull up a stool at the beautiful bar where Biaggi's 'tender will tender you in a very nice way indeed. This is a good Springs spot for solo dining. (I like the mussels and a Caesar salad with a glass of Chardonnay myself.)
The deal for February 17 goes like this: You get six courses paired with wine for $65 per person, plus tax and tip. Yes, you'll need reservations (see below), even on Thursday. Here's the food lineup:
Primo: Warmed oyster with crab, lobster, spinach, artichoke hearts and mascarpone cheese. (Wine: Santa Christina Campogrande" - Orvieto.
Insalata: Baby spinach and micro greens with grilled wild mushrooms, strawberries and white balsamic vinaigrette. (Wines: Villa Antinori Bianco, Toscano IGT & Castella della Sala Bramito del Cervo, Chardonnay- Umbria)
Pasta: Pappardelle pasta with goat sausage and goat cheese cream sauce
Pesce: Pancetta wrapped monkfish and butter beans (Wine: Villa Antinori Rosso - Toscano IGT)

One other sweet deal that week is for February 15. Stop in that night (reservation might be nice then, too) for dinner and 1/2-price bottles of wine.
