Nights of Shimmering Lights isn't exactly in Orlando, but it's worth the drive to the Tampa Bay area to see this amazing drive-through display. Even though much of it is themed to Christmas, it runs through December 29, so you still have a few more days to see it.
In addition to the holiday light sculptures, you'll also see displays with themes like princesses and "under the sea." Click the video accompanying this article for a sampling. Of course, it's nearly impossible to capture the full scope on video, so you really need to see it yourself.
The display is open from dusk until 9 p.m. (10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays), and once you're in, you can drive through as many times as you wish. See it once, then take a break in the marketplace where you can ride a train and enjoy some food or tasty treats like freshly-made donuts, then drive through again.
The cost is $15 per carload, or $20 on Friday and Saturday nights. Nights of Shimmering Lights is located the the Hillsborough County Fairgrounds off Highway 60.
