Frosty the Snowman is a beloved holiday character who was brought to life by a magical hat in the Rankin-Bass TV special and the classic sony on which it was based. This year, Frosty also came to life at the Gaylord Palms Resort, and he's still there until January 5 if you'd like to see him in person.
Ice! at the Gaylord Palms Resort is an annual display of breathtaking ice sculptures carved out by artisans from Harbin, China. There's a new theme every year (along with an annual nativity display), and this year's sculptures tell Frosty's story just as it plays out in the cartoon. Click the video accompanying this article for an overview of the display.
Even though much of the early winter season has been warmer than usual in Florida, you can't help but feel the chill of the season in the nine degree rooms of Ice!. You'll warm up a bit by hiking up the stairs to take a spin on the ice slides, which are always an annual favorite.
Frosty has to head out of town on the 5th, but tickets are still available on the Gaylord Palms Resort website if you'd like to visit him before he goes. There's still a lot of other holiday fun left in the area, as you'll see in the articles below:
