Yes that day of paying too much for roses, restaurants that charge as much for the same meal you got the night before and the night after; negotating your way out of potential relationship shapping mishaps, yes its Valentine's Day!! Here's a little last minute advice to enjoy this day with a special someone and not let you have to take out a loan to do it.
- Try eating out at an ethnic spot.
Yes you heard me, go to eat at somewhere in the Chinatown's, you know the one in Manhattan, the one in Flushing, Queens or down off Sunset Park in Brooklyn. EaT Indian food in Curry Hill or Curry Lane. Visit ethnicities that don't really celebrate this holiday. You'll be all the better for it and save a lot of dough because like I said in the 1st paragraph all the other restaurants are charging you twice as much. It can still be romantic.
- Try having cocktails late like after 10pm.
The hours between 7pm-11pm are going to be rush hour of datings. Avoid a lot of bars as all of your familiar date haunts will be packed. Try a late night jaunt into any place that seems "comfortable", "cozy" and especially "intimate".
- Buy Premium Cocktails.
That's right when you do buy a cocktail go out and get a premium cocktail. They last longer and taste better. This is a night whether your guy or girl in which taste and refinement is key don't go out for Boilermaker's and Pickleback's.
- Leave single dating sites alone!!
There are a few parties out there for singles, and they will be charging you twice as much as any other night because you're desperate to just have someone make you feel special. When you want someone to make you feel special go out and buy a dog.
