Last minute Valentine’s Day gift ideas for your wife, girlfriend

It’s no secret many men wait until the last minute to shop for their wife or girlfriend for special occasions. And Valentine’s Day holds additional pressure for men to not only find a gift their partner likes, but a gift that is also romantic in nature.

A general guiding principle men should keep in mind while shopping, is that Valentine’s Day is not the time to buy their partner something practical. Remember, this is a day that women generally want to feel special and even doted on.

Following are some gift ideas to help men shopping in the Burlington area that may strike just the right romantic note.

Chocolate: Lake Champlain Chocolates is a very popular local chocolatier with two locations in the Burlington area, one on Church Street, and the other on Pine. All of their products are made in Burlington. They use Belgian chocolate and a wide variety of natural ingredients including several local ingredients such as honey, butter, cream, and Vermont maple syrup. Their chocolates are made daily, and include a wide range of flavors. A number of interesting flavor combinations are crafted for those who appreciate something out of the ordinary. Some of these include their dark chocolate covered orange peels, organic spicy Aztec chocolate, or dark chocolate sea salt caramels.

The rich quality of their products and care that is put into making them is immediately known after just one bite. One illustration of their commitment to their products can be noted by the process of creating their cherry cordials. A bit more labor intensive, but well worth the wait, their cherry cordials include maraschino cherries soaked in vodka for two days, rolled in sugar paste, and hand-dipped in dark chocolate, where they sit for a another two days so that the ingredients can marinate to a delectable cherry, chocolate experience.

Other products include truffles, fudge, caramel apples, their own hot chocolate mix, and many more delicious treats. Chocolate dipped strawberries are also being made for this Valentine’s Day.

Their packaging is bright and nicely executed in fuchsias, browns and reds. Many Valentine’s Day gift assortments are available including gift baskets, heart-shaped boxes, etc.
