Last minute options for Valentine’s Day (Photos)

If the day of love has taken you by surprise, there are some options you have to make this day a good one for you and your sweetie.

While there isn’t a woman alive who doesn’t understand the correlation between Godiva chocolate and Valentine’s Day, a visit to the Godiva Boutiques today isn’t for the inexperienced shopper. You might want to take a safer and less crowded route and opt for one of the Godiva satellite locations. These kiosk-type stands are in major retailers like Macy’s. While in the department store, check out the jewelry. Earrings or a necklace can make a woman sparkle.

If you haven’t already ordered the flowers from a florist, don’t think that you will magically get them delivered today. Chances of that happening are like a snowstorm happening in Texas in May.

Many of the grocery stores are prepared for this frenzied display of love and have set up tents in their parking lots to handle drive-by shoppers. They have everything from a variety of flowers, chocolates, stuffed animals and cards.

If you can’t get into your favorite restaurant or if you prefer a more intimate setting, you can make dinner at home and you don’t have to have a culinary degree to pull it off.

Whole Foods Market has a Valentine’s Day dinner in a reusable bag for $34.99. The reheatable meal includes Truffle Braised Beef Crock Wellington, lemon roasted asparagus, and a spinach and strawberry salad.

Since nice weather is the forecast, you can always fire up the grill and barbeque some heart-shaped burgers from Central Market. They offer slider-sized hearts and regular ones in a variety of flavors, Cowboy Beef, Bleu Cheese and Ground Chuck for $6.49 a pound.

Dinner wouldn’t be complete without a little dessert. Trailercakes is offering a box of their assorted “Lil’ Luv” mini-cupcakes 12 for $22 or “Big Luv” large cupcakes are 4 for $13 or 6 for $19.50. Trailercakes is located at 3001 Knox Street on the Central Expressway access road in the same strip center as Fadi’s. They are right next to Pei Wei.

Happy Valentine’s Day.
