Its Christmas all over the world and there are many wonderful ways to celebrate the season. When you think about it, gift giving is something that happens all the time. The special thing about this time of the year whether commercialized or not is the celebration of love. We celebrate the love of God through the birth of his son Jesus Christ.
During Jesus' ministry he gave gifts to the needy and the wealthy all the time. Jesus gave what each person wanted most. Most people simply want the gift of being around other people. Sometimes people are afraid to say so cause they do not want to feel like they are a burden. This article is to highlight a few of the hundreds of organizations who are opening their doors for Christmas eve and Christmas.
The first is Greater Pleasant Valley Church of God in Christ, Pastor Robert Skinner Jr., is feeding the homeless on CHristmas day December 25, 2013 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 910 East 83rd Street, Chicago, Illinois 60619, Next there is FaithWorld Chicago Church, Pastors Daniel and Jennifer Cruz, Christmas Eve production of The Gifts We Bring", 6:30pm, 4047 West Fullerton Ave, Chicago, Illinois, the third is Holy Name Cathedral, with worship masses from 12 a.m., 7 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. Christmas day, on the corner of Chicago Ave and State Street, caroling beings at 11:25 pm on Christmas eve December 24, 2013.
