Invitations is a must for Halloween. There are many ways to go about this but Cheryl suggests that with timer permitting check out Real Simple's brand new line of Halloween cards available at FineStationery.com. There are many cool invitations to choose from like the Goth Frame invitation for a gothic inspired Halloween party or the Costume Jam invitation to remind guests to wear a costume. Many of these invitations are also on sale so be sure to check them out. There's no reason to not send an invitation but if you're really running short on time the head on over to Celebrations.com for some trendy Halloween digital invitation. Check out the Costumes & Cocktails invitation for a more elegant affair or the All Hallow's Eve Party invitation which makes for a spooky invitation. Make sure you let your guests know all the pertinent information like time, theme of the party if you're having a specific theme and by when they need to RSVP by.
One of the best parts of getting ready for a Halloween party is decorating. There are so many different ways that you can decorate. Just don't get overwhelmed. Keep the look cohesive and pick a specific Halloween theme and go with it. Your home will look great and your guests will love it. Cheryl suggests that you dress up your table with an easy craft like mummy vase centerpieces. All you need are battery powered candles, yarn, fabric googly eyes, spray adhesive and ruler. For instructions just go to CherylStyle.com. Mix it up and add fresh flowers in dark autumn colors to those without a candle. Another quick and easy way to decorate is to make a vampire lantern which just requires a vase, felt, tissue paper and adhesive dots. Just head on over to CherylStyle.com for instructions. In a pinch? Add fun faux spider webs to the chairs in your home and just add spiders, sprinkle some glitter and tape it down to complete the look.
Food & Cake:
Who doesn’t love Halloween for nothing more than candies and treats? Instead of having candy dishes around for your guests to nosh on do something different and add a spooky twist to favorite classics like PB&J sandwiches, pizza and hot dogs. Make a Peanut Butter & Jelly Sand’witch’ with PB&J, felt and pipe cleaners, Tortilla Halloween Pizza with Cheese Stitches and Frankeweenie Hot Dogs instead. If you're a fan of cheese sticks make some Halloween Cheese Fingers also.
To cure your guests sweet tooth make some Halloween Monster Donut Holes with colorful coconut, but if you're pressed for time consider ordering some buttercream frosted treats from Cheryls.com (no relation!). Over at Cheryls.com you'll find the Halloween Bakery Assortment that comes with maple brown sugar and pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, lemon mini muffins, snack size cookies and brownies, chocolate truffle cookies, buttercream layered chocolate sandwich cookies, foil wrapped chocolates and sweet pretzel clusters or mix it up with buttercream frosted treats with brownies with the Halloween Cookies and Brownies box.
Lastly, don't forget the drinks! Halloween Test Tube Shots are perfect to serve with different drinks in them like 'Frankenstein Blood' and 'Mind Eraser'. For the 'Frankenstein Blood' just mix up some cherries, lemon juice, sugar, Midori and Sprite and for the 'Mind Eraser' mix up some vodka (try some EFFEN Vodka for this recipe), Kahlua, Sprite and red food gel. For the guys at your party who prefer a more 'manly' drink make a BOOzey DIY Pumkin Keg with a pumpkin, a spigot and a carving knife.
Now that you have all the last minute tips on throwing a Halloween party, stop procrastinating and get to planning!
