Last Kiss comes back for a reunion

2.27.10 @ Bourbon Street Ballroom

Get ready to mark you calendars because there is great news for those who used to attend the Last Kiss parties. They’re bringing it back for a reunion party! Help celebrate a very special anniversary where it all began with DJ Kristen, the original Last Kiss DJ and co-founder. You won’t want to miss special live performances and drink specials at the Bourbon Street Ballroom on Saturday, February 27th.

Last Kiss originally began in early 2003 at Kiss Café. Wendy Fox and DJ Kristen worked as chefs at the restaurant and had a great idea to use the amazing 6,000 square foot space as a bar/nightclub venue after hours. What started as a special event on the last Saturday of the month in February 2003 changed the GLTBQ women’s scene in Baltimore. Wendy Fox and Tawni met when Last Kiss hosted members of Odd Girl Out. Through this collaboration and the joining of connections, ideas, and event experience, S.H.E. Productions was formed.

The goal of the event was to give women another environment to call their own with a large accommodating space, great music, and drink specials. The space was unlike anything in Baltimore and offered features that the other GLBTQ venues couldn’t offer. Women, men, friends, straight, gay, bi, trans, queer and questioning joined together in one room and danced the night away. They won Best Baltimore Dance Night one year and not only beat out all of the gay clubs, but the entire nightlife scene in Baltimore.

Sadly, Last Kiss came to an end due to conflicts with management, attempted theft, people becoming greedy and trying to claim the event as their own.

When asked why bring Last Kiss back for a reunion S.H.E. Productions simply stated, “Why wouldn’t we? We had a great team of people, DJ’s, performers, and now we have partnered with a new space that offers similar features. S.H.E. Productions is booming and bringing back the old crew for a fabulous party that will be great for the Baltimore scene.”

While they say Last Kiss is not back for good, be sure to stay tuned to S.H.E. Productions because there are a ton of special events lined up for the next two years!

The Last Kiss Reunion Party takes place Saturday, February 27th beginning at 9 p.m. with a $5 cover for those 21+ and $10 to get in for those that are under 21. The Bourbon Street Ballroom is located at 316 Guilford Avenue in Baltimore.
