Last John Lennon interview to be featured in syndicated radio special (UPDATED)

A two-hour radio special featuring John Lennon's final radio interview will be syndicated on radio stations around the country in early December, Krantz Media Group has announced. The show will be produced in partnership with Dave Sholin and Premiere Radio Networks.

In addition to featuring highlights of the interview, Sholin, Laurie Kaye, Ron Hummel and Bert Keane, the team who conducted it, will discuss their memories 30 years later of events leading to the interview, meeting Lennon and Yoko Ono and a curbside encounter with Lennon's killer.

"From the moment John entered the room one could sense his energy and enthusiasm," said Sholin in a statement. "He was so excited about 'Double Fantasy' and was looking forward to the future. He'd just turned 40 and felt like he was just getting going with so much more ahead, indeed "Starting Over."

(UPDATE) The special, which will include music from the Lennon's "Double Fantasy" album as well as songs from the Beatles, will be available for broadcast from Dec. 3-10. It will air in major market radio outlets including WCBS-FM in New York, K-EARTH-FM in Los Angeles, KLUV-FM in Dallas and 103.7-FM "The Band" in San Francisco.
