MTSU students viewing a Lunar Eclipse
If you didn't make it to the first three First Friday Star Parties, you might want to try and catch the last one which is this Friday, May 1. A Star Party is a 30-45 minute lecture followed by outdoor telescope observing. The activity is open to the public and even kids are welcome.
It is held at Middle Tennessee State University in the Wiser-Patten Science (WPS) Building and, of course, outside. This Friday they will be studying Meteorites: Special Deliveries from Space. The event will be held from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM.
There is free parking behind the WPS Building, so you don't have to worry about money issues. Just make sure you get there early enough to get a spot! To get behind the WPS Building, you can use the Main Entrance to enter MTSU and then you just follow Blue Raider Drive past Cope Building and Old Main Circle. Then you take a left at Friendship Street and then another left into the second parking lot. The WPS Building is the second building on the right. It is asked that you park in only designated areas.
The first three Star Parties held this semester at MTSU were Spitzer Space Telescope (The Infrared Universe), Weird Galaxies, and Saturn: The Ringed Wonder.
