"Last Days on Mars" has just released its first International trailer. First appearing on UK MSN, the video shows a group of astronauts, led by Liev Schrieber as they excavate the planet of Mars in hopes of finding any signs of life, past or present.
The film takes a turn from Sci-Fi to horror when one of the astronauts discovers what appears to be a dormant bacterial form, and celebrations ensue. During the excavation, this particular astronaut falls to his death but doesn't actually stay dead for very long. Soon the man becomes a sort of zombie, apparently possessed by the bacterial life form that isn't all that dormant after all.
From here, the rest of the crew tries to figure out exactly what is going on, while waiting for rescue from a space shuttle that is due at any time. The rest of the cast for "Last Days on Mars" is populated by names that should be familiar to film fans such as Elias Koteas, Romola Garai, Olivia Williams and Tom Cullen.
The movie is going the same route as several other lesser known films have been going over the last year. This flick will actually get an October 31 digital and on demand release. It won't actually hit theaters until December 6.
