The Big Apple BBQ is a place where 12 reknown pitmasters visit Madison Square Park near the Flatiron building in Manhattan and throw down some serious grub on the grill. These BBQ connoisseurs and experts range from Missouri, Texas, Mississippi, Alabama, North and South Carolina, Illinois, Tennessee to right here in NYC. The final day of the two day event is Sunday, June 8th from 11am-6pm at Madison Square Park located at 23rd street and 5th Avenue and/or Broadway.
There is also a bar setup on 24th street and 5th Avenue because few things go down better than cold suds and Hot BBQ in the park on a hot day. To make this event a complete nightlife (or daylife) event there is also live music from 1pm to nearly 6pm ranging from country folk to hip hop.
So there it is folks, bbq, beer or bourbon, live music and an afternoon in the park and there is no admission free but they ain't giving out food for free ya dig!? To get to Madison Square Park take the N,R train to 23rd St, the F train to 23rd Street and walk one block, or the 6 train to 23rd street and walk 2 blocks.
