Today marks the last day for a special "Black Friday" adoption event at Arlington Animal Services.
Today until closing, all animals age six and over have their adoption prices slashed in half. That means you can bring home a new canine companion for just $50 and a new feline for $45, much less than the cost of a veterinary exam and vaccinations. And they're already spayed or neutered!
Older pets are already full-size and adopters know exactly what they are going to get. They are calmer, easy to work with, great companions, and so grateful to get a second chance.
"We love the older ones," says one foster mom. "I look for them to be available because they are such a joy to have in our home."
The shelter will be open today from 10 am to 6 pm.
Arlington Animal Services estimates that they take in approximately 12,000 animals per year.
