Last chance for the Las Perlas Double Barrel Tequila Release Party

There are less than 24 hours left to join a select group of privileged people (those who paid $99 for the benefit) at Las Perlas tequila y mezcal bar tomorrow night, Thursday December 16, from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.. The occasion? The launch of the Las Perlas Mezcal Collective, which will host ongoing tastings of the finest mezcals and tequilas "from their large library of artisan-crafted spirits for a self-selected group of agave acolytes who love and respect all things mezcal."

To commemorate the Collective, Cedd Moses, 213's founder, hand-selected a barrel specially crafted for Las Perlas of Casa Herradura-certified Double Barrel Reposado while he stayed at Tequila Herradura's home for the last 140 years, Haceinda San Jose del Refugio in Guadalajara, Mexico.

For this inaugural event, Herradura's historian and global brand ambassador, Ruben Aceves, will educate and entertain tequila aficionados to the company that introduced the world to reposado tequila in 1974. The Double Barrel is hand-harvested, hand-crafted, and estate bottled in Amatatin, Jalisco. Every bottle is 100% blue weber agave that rested (reposado) in toasted oak barrels for 11 months, 9 more than category standards. It is then matured in a new toasted oak barrel for another month.

The $99 ticket price includes gourmet Mexican bites, complimentary margaritas throughout the night (the Las Perlas House Margarita and Spiced Daisy), and mainly, your own gift box of a 750ml bottle of Las Perlas Private Reserve Herradura Double Barrel Reposado signed, numbered, and authenticated by Tequila Herradura's Master Distiller (a $150 value).

Space is limited, so buy your tickets now at www.lasperlas.eventbrite.com.

I'd love to read your impressions of the juice, Aaron - and I'd love to review it side-by-side with Herradura's other repos. Can you ask the distiller about the juice extraction? What is the trade-off of using diffusers vs. other methods of juice extraction? And, is the juice that goes into these two barrels the same that goes into the Herradura reposado that can be purchased in stores? (Ok, a lot of questions - so feel free to pass him my contact info...)

Enjoy the release party! Salud, mi amigo.

    Hey Ryan

Guess this means I'm on assignment to go tonight. ;-)

I'll get the skinny and relay it to you and/or send contact info on.

    Aaron
