Last chance at the Jewish Film Festival

The Jewish Film Festival comes to a close tomorrow with the viewings of Standing Silent, The Roundup, and The Matchmaker. Don’t miss out on the largest Jewish Film Festival, reaching 30,000 attendees of filmmakers and audiences to commemorate Jewish cinema.

Standing Silent, a film directed by Scott Rosenfelt, depicts the efforts of Phil Jacobs, a reporter for the Baltimore Jewish Times, exposing sexual predators in the Orthodox Jewish Community. Jacobs, an Orthodox Jew himself, encounters ostracism from a narrow-minded community engrossed with shielding itself from shame and judgment.

Based on the true story of a young Jewish boy, The Roundup portrays the story of German Nazis raiding Paris, France in search of Jews in 1942. Starring Melanie Laurent and Jean Reno, The Roundup won eight audience awards at international film festivals.

The Matchmaker, follows teenager Arik Burstein who’s offered a job as a professional matchmaker’s assistant. Slated in the late 1960s of northern Israel, Arik falls in love with the Iraqi-Jewish-American niece of his best friend.
