Diamond, a German shepherd mix, found herself locked behind bars at an animal control in Many, La., after her owner surrendered her when he moved away.
Today, the one-year-old dog, who has been locked up for nearly a month, is in dire need of help.
Diamond is not spayed and is heart worm positive, but she is a smart, attentive dog who deserves to be saved and treated.
The following information was shared about this young dog:
Diamond was brought in by her owner. He was moving and could not take her. He was so upset and broke down and was crying. She is a beautiful German Shepherd mix. She is a year old, weighs 39 lbs, chipped, all shots and we can have her spayed.
She is Heartworm positive. (Can be treated with slow kill method.) We can spay her. She was an only dog and does not like other dogs. She would need to be the only dog. She is very smart and learns very quickly!!
She misses her owner and has been at shelter nearly a month. She is so tired of kennel life. This has been difficult on her. Her coat will shine when someone has time to bathe and brush her. She is very loving towards people and adores attention.
Though many people on Diamond's Facebook thread have expressed an interest, nobody has followed through and there are hints to indicate that Diamond's days are number.
Please take a moment to network this gorgeous pup's information, before she is lost forever.
