Las Vegas: Two women injured in soccer game shooting

Two women are reportedly safe after being treated for non-life-threatening injuries related to a shooting that took place today during a Las Vegas soccer game. Gunfire reportedly interrupted a soccer match, hitting two women who were in the crowd spectating the sport event. It's fortunate that the unidentified ladies are okay, but it isn't entirely clear yet on whether or not the person(s) responsible for the incident has been located. As of 10:54 a.m., January 20, 2013, the culprit remains at large.

Officers say that the gun shots came from over a wall into the soccer field, indicating that it wasn't by someone who wasn't in attendance at today's match. There is no telling who pulled the trigger or why, but what is for certain is that this is just another gun crime added to the growing list in the first month of the new year. In a time that gun violence and gun control are widely debated and being taken on by the Obama Administration, today's incident couldn't have come at a more opportune time.

Hopefully officials in Las Vegas figure out who did this. There must certainly be a lingering fear that the person might strike again, perhaps shooting aimlessly into crowds here in Sin City. If that's the case, then nobody is really safe in this massive tourist trap of a city.
