Las Vegas Taekwondo tournament promises families a fistful of fun

Martin's Leadership Academy in Las Vegas will be hosting the "Tiger's Roar" Taekwondo tournament on Saturday, October 5 at South Point Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Open to the general public, the tournament is also expected to attract competitors from all across the southwestern region of the U.S. Martial artists will be competing in traditional forms and sparring, combat weapons sparring, traditional weapons and extreme/creative events. Spectators can enjoy watching the all-day tournament, starting with a demonstration, then viewing a variety of competition rings with competitors of all ages and levels. Everyone is welcome to take part in a board-breaking challenge for $2 per board.

"We encourage anyone to come out and join us," says Master April Renee Martin-Derrick, co-owner of the Academy. "It's a great place to learn about Taekwondo. It's perfect for families because they can do it together and regardless of age, there are so many benefits like health, strength, confidence, discipline, and more."

"Tiger's Roar" Tournament will be held on Saturday, October 5 at South Point Hotel & Casino. The event's highlight demonstration will take place at 10:00 a.m. to kick off the event.
