The Pirate Fest returns to Las Vegas the weekend of April 25-27, 2014. It will be held at Lorenzi Park, near the Springs Preserve, and will feature a Cardboard Regatta in the park’s “Twin Lakes”. It’s not just for pirates though; one can expect to find Steampunk and Faerie characters roaming the grounds as well.
There will be games for the kids as well as pirate fencing classes, among other free activities. Performers will be demonstrating their talents, and everyone is encouraged to dress up in their finest pirate garb for the occasion.
Camel and hot air balloon rides, a beer garden, and live entertainment round out the lineup for the event. There will also be plenty of shops to check out, and food will be available from an assortment of vendors.
The Cardboard Regatta is sponsored by Zappos and is free to enter. Contestants will build their own cardboard boats to race. There is a unique “race within a race” option where any contestant can challenge another. Awards will be given out for Best Time, Most Creative Boat, Best Company Representation, and The Davy Jones Award for Best Sinking!
Admission prices and online ticket sales can be found on the official website.
The park is located at: 3343 W Washington Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89107
