On Jan. 12, Las Vegas was the scene of so many beauty queens there for the Miss America pageant. These lookers had finally reached the end of their week of Sin City action while staying at the celebrated Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino on the Las Vegas Strip.
But, according to the Associated Press by way of WPTV, these fierce competitors weren't luxuriating in their fancy rooms. Instead, the lot was elsewhere on property, working hard to hone certain skills during the last moments before the show went on.
Indeed, these stunners were practicing walking and dancing in a group as well as going over individual endeavors to be sure their turn on the talent part of the show was honed and ready to go.
Meanwhile, the comely property where all this laboring was taking place, easily reached from Los Angeles by air or by car (in about four hours), has been hosting women from all the states as well as the District of Columbia for the entire time the women were in town.
Indeed, the week that culminated in the crowning of a new Miss America meant that this lucky lady's year-long reign would soon begin, whereupon at that point, she would have to get ready to travel the country to raise money for the Children's Miracle Network.
But right now, the part of the country where Miss American will soon be crowned is in the Nevada desert in a place where dreams do come true for all sorts of people, not only just those who wear ribbons strapped across their perfect bodies while prancing on stage in bathing suits.
In fact, lots of lookers and others with imperfect bodies as seen by the naked eye have fun all over the place in this hotel and its accompanying casino, a place where fortunes have been made and savings have been spent.
Like the Miss America candidates, visitors also have fun in the sun at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino, a mainstay on the famous Strip that boasts what the massive hotel refers to as pleasure pools which are two very special entertainment areas that allow you to do more than just swim.
In fact, on tap at these so-called poolside retreats are spinning DJs called the top Las Vegas has to offer, VIP cabanas, misting chairs, a refreshing cafe, and, of course, a double dose of pool bars.
But if that doesn't do it for you, consider taking in a show on the premises either before, after, or during the Miss America Pageant. In fact, Coco from the E! Entertainment network's "Ice Loves Coco" is artist in residence these days. She's the headliner in an act called the Peepshow, which is dubbed by the property as a "striptease spectacular."
Not interested? No worries. There's plenty of other diversions on hand to keep you occupied while being entertained.
And if that means taking in the Miss America pageant then you'll experience the property's biggest venue, a 7,000 seat auditorium called PH LIVE where everyone from Nicki Minaj to Justin Beiber, from Willie Nelson and Sheryl Crow to Nine Inch Nails and Journey have played And, of course, beauty pageants, including both Miss American and Miss USA, have also hit the stage in this spacious and very attractive space.
And so, as Las Vegas prepares to takes the spotlight once again tonight for the 2013 version of the Miss America Pageant, Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino is in on the act in a big way. Good luck to all who are competing for that coveted and very sparkly crown so many home-grown girls would like to try on, if not wear for an entire year, at least once in their lifetimes.
