Have you ever thought about having yourself created into a puppet? Or have you ever thought about your favorite politician being a puppet? Lisa Land invited me to the Grand Opening of Scott Land Marionettes on the night of Friday March 21, 2014. As I entered his warehouse, the first striking thing which came to me was his new creation of David Bowie. The face and hair of David Bowie were immaculately chiseled from plasticine clay on his work table harnessed to a vise for everyone to see.

There were just so many recognizable faces all over his workshop. I was greeted by Scott who showed me the molds and the whole process. It was just amazing how much work goes into each of these marionettes. So much work in fact that his wife Lisa does all the face painting of each of these creations. With eyes that look as glossy as the real thing, one really has to go down there to check out these wonderments. Scott is most famous for his masterpiece movie Team America: World Police. He as well features his marionettes in shows for David Arquette's Bootsy Bellows nightclub on the Sunset Strip in L.A. Last year he was in England, Mexico, Japan twice, Scotland and Germany. Scott had a Vegas run at the Venetian for their Carnivale. 4 shows a day, 7 days a week for the summer of 2013. He also did fairs across the west and Midwest, private shows, and library shows. He also opened for Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros in L.A. Edward Sharpe He won a Grammy afterwards. He now has obtained. organized, and opened an office studio here in Vegas. He is sculpting and creating one of a kind marionettes for many celebrity personalities in Los Angeles and Las Vegas.

Bob Lyons from Hollywood's World Famous Magic Castle was there to help support the birth of Scott's new workshop. He is always full of so much information about up and coming performers and new magic. Scott's magic is not new though by any means. Scott explained to me that he worked with Jim Henson on his first movie. He has been at this a long time and he carries on with the work for new fans.

Other supportive friends present were Joaquin Ayala of Ayala EFX (new neighbor of Scott's), Ariann Black, Kevin Hall, Kevin Palm (friend of Scott), Dr Solar, and Scott Hammons. These are only a few of the many present to come out and support his new workshop. It was really great to see Scott Land teaching Scott Hammons tricks that make a puppet really look life like. He has a great passion for bringing this magic to life.

Go down and check out Scott's creations for yourself at at 6290 Harrison Dr #12 Las Vegas, Nevada 89120. Email for more details at
