Las Vegas horse shows in May 2010

The LVAHA kicked off the month of May with their 1st Trail Trials event at Tule Springs. Sunday, May 2 was a windy day filled with good fun and friendship!

NSHA
The Nevada State Horsemen’s Association Las Vegas chapter will hold their event on May 7 - 8, Saturday/Sunday in the Flamingo Arena of Horseman’s Park. For entries and horse show information NSHALV

SNHJA
The Southern Nevada Hunter Jumper Association will hold their event on May 13-16
with Dianne Grod of Tucson, AZ as judge. Classes are held Thursday through Sunday at Horseman‘s Park. For entries and horse show information SNHJA

OTHER FUN
Horses4Heroes presents their All Community Open Horse, Part 2: The Pattern Show. It will be held May 15 at Horseman’s Park in the Flamingo Arena. Show office opens at 7:30 a.m. and the show will start at 8 a.m. The Pattern Show offers age-specific classes in Showmanship, Trail, In-Hand Trail (horses 2 and under), English Equitation, Western Horsemanship and Reining. Eight jackpot classes are offered. Judge Terry Berg will offer a Trail Clinic. Cost to participate in the clinic is $20; observers pay just $10. All breeds are welcome and all events will be offered for walk-trot and loping/cantering riders. Beginners are welcome and encouraged.

Horses4Heroes also presents the 2nd Annual Walk-Trot Spectacular is planned for May 29, at the Boulder City arena in lovely Boulder City, NV. Free t-shirts for pre-entries and everyone receives a beautiful, red white and blue participation ribbon! Horseman’s Park is located at 5800 East Flamingo Road just east of Sam’s Town. The park is easily accessed off the 95/515, by exiting at the Flamingo exit and heading east. Take Flamingo east past the Boulder Highway and you will find the horse park located at Jimmy Durante Blvd and E Flamingo Road. Family, friends and hunter/jumper fans are always welcome at Horseman’s Park. If you bring your dog to the venue, please remember to have them on a leash at all times.

DRESSAGE
The Las Vegas Dressage has a rated show on May 22 - 23, 2010 at the Cooper Ranch in Northwest Las Vegas. The next week follows with the Kamila DuPont Clinic will be hosted by Linda Phillips at the Phillips Ranch in Southwest Las Vegas on May 29-30.

6660 Balsam Street near N Tenaya Way and Rome Blvd. The Phillips Ranch is located at 8390 W. Windmill Lane, which is in the SW part of the valley between Buffalo and Rainbow, off the 215 (it was formerly Augusta Farms).
