The Nevada Gaming Control Board just released the latest ( through November 2011 ) gaming revenue stats, with a 7% improvement statewide ( $880 million ) and a 9% gain on the Las Vegas Strip ( won $495 million ) as compared to this time last year. The November gains mark the second consecutive month of increased revenues on the Strip, as October 2011 numbers showed a 13.2 % improvement over the same month last year. The gaming win for the first 11 months of 2011 was 5.2% higher at Strip casinos.
Winnings on the Boulder Strip in Vegas showed a 12.4% improvement in November, as did downtown Las Vegas ( + 7.2% ) and the balance of Clark County ( + 8.7%). North Las Vegas was the only Clark County jurisdiction to post a decrease in revenues for November 2011 as compared to November 2010.
Over $57 million in taxes were collected by the state in November 2011 based on total casino revenues ( +15.2% vs November 2010 ).
The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority ( LVCVA) says just over 3 million people visited Las Vegas in November 2011, which was a 3.2% improvement over this time in 2010. The increase observed in the latest visitation stats represent the 21st straight month of tourism growth in Las Vegas. LVCVA reported a 2.6% increase in the number of convention visitors for the month. Weekend occupancy rates citywide were at 89%, with an average daily room rate of $104.
For the first 11 months of 2011, overall visitation increased 4.4% as compared to 2010.
