The Las Vegas Ferris wheel – the Las Vegas High Roller – officially opened on Monday. The opening of the Las Vegas Ferris wheel, along the famed Las Vegas strip inundated with casinos and other forms of entertainment, makes it the tallest Ferris wheel in the world – at 550 feet tall – according to a CNN report on Tuesday.
The High Roller Ferris wheel, which received its operating license last Friday, is a portion of the LINQ which is a shopping and entertainment district developed by Caesars Entertainment.
For a ticket price ranging from $24.95 on a standard day to $59.95 for the express that allows a person to board anytime without waiting in line, a person who rides the Ferris wheel gets a 30-minute ride and view of the city. The city is viewed by the riders via one of two booths in each of the Ferris wheel’s 28 Italian glass cabins. Each of the glass cabins weighs 44,000 pounds. Each one of the cabins hold up to 40 persons which puts that high-end capacity of persons on the Ferris wheel at one time at 1,120 people.
Reactions from first-day riders are very favorable.
