Las Vegas cultural volunteer opportunities for "Give a Day, Get a Day" Disney program

With Disneyland only a short five-hour drive from the city, Las Vegas have the perfect opportunity to participate in the “Give a Day, Get a Day” Disney program. By volunteering a day of service, participants will receive a one-day, one-park free admission ticket to either Disneyland or Disneyworld.

Volunteer opportunities are not limited to soup kitchens and park cleanup. The following arts & culture organizations in Las Vegas have been approved as participants for the “Give a Day, Get a Day” program:

Disney’s “Give a Day, Get a Day” Las Vegas volunteer participant: Girls Rock Vegas

According to their website, Girls Rock Vegas is “a non-profit organization seeking to help young women develop healthy self-image through music creation and performance.” They seek volunteers to act as visiting artists, music instructors, and band counselors.

Disney’s “Give a Day, Get a Day” Las Vegas volunteer participant: James Seastrand Helping Hands of NLV

Based in North Las Vegas, the James Seastrand Helping Hands organization assists elderly and disabled citizens with transportation, errands, and community needs. The organization produces an annual Broadway play to raise money for their programs. Currently, volunteers are needed to help with publicity, building and painting sets, sewing costumes, collecting and creating props, taking tickets, and being ushers.

Disney’s “Give a Day, Get a Day” Las Vegas volunteer participant: Las Vegas Natural History Museum

Winner of the 2009 Parents Pick for Best Las Vegas Museum, the Las Vegas Natural History Museum seeks volunteers to act as exhibit ambassadors and docents to help educate the public. The Las Vegas Natural History Museum is a private, non-profit institution housing numerous displays on natural sciences, wildlife, ecosystems, and cultures.

To be eligible for the free Disney ticket, volunteers must register and sign up through the Disney “Give a Day, Get a Day” website. Opportunities listed in this article are available for a limited time only. Check the website for a full list of volunteer opportunities eligible for the program.

    It's a great program, though hopefully people will get a lot more out of helping their neighbors than that ticket to Disney.

    My husband works for Disney in Seattle, we have free tickets to Disney...too bad we've only used it once in the last couple of years.
