Larry King wants Ryan Seacrest to replace him -- rumors build about Piers Morgan

King: already thinking of a replacement.

After making the announcement on Tuesday that he would be stepping down from his nightly post at CNN, Larry King is already thinking of a potential replacement. King had comedian / talk show host Bill Maher on his program Tuesday night, and he immediately had an answer when asked about his preference for a replacement:

"Ryan Seacrest."

Now, Seacrest would certainly bring an air of popularity to CNN -- people know him, and he has already interviewed many of the top names in entertainment. However, how would he handle the more political mindfields out there? Ryan also has so many other gigs that it doesn't seem possible for him to do a news show without either dropping "American Idol" or his radio show.

Therefore, it seems more likely that we will see one of the other aforementioned "candidates" out there, such as Piers Morgan or "Survivor" host Jeff Probst. Both men are in the entertainment field, have a following, and also would have enough time on their plate to take over the show.

As a matter of fact, Radar Online is reporting that Piers is already "close" to signing a deal with CNN.
