According to those who knew Larry Hagman, he was a guy with a great sense of humor. On Wednesday, we’ll get to see the beloved “Dallas” star prank the public and pretend to be a Costco sample salesman.
Hagman will appear on CBS’ hidden camera show, “I Get That A Lot.” The premise of the show is that celebrities take on ordinary jobs and try to convince confused customers they’re not the famous people they look like.
Hagman posed as a Costco employee and handed out samples of barbeque sauce to quizzical customers. His quick wit and interaction with the shoppers are priceless.
One lady told Larry, “You look like one of the characters ... J.R.”
Hagman’s response, ““I wouldn’t be working here if was J.R.”
Another customer came back four times and finally insisted she knew who Hagman was, claiming she’d watched “Dallas” and “I Dream of Jeannie” and that she was from the 80s. Hagman quipped “I’m in my 80’s.”
The actor died on November 23 after losing a battle with cancer. His appearance on “I Get That A Lot” was shot on September 7, 2012, shortly before his death. The one-hour show airs Wednesday at 8 p.m. on CBS.
