NBA legend Larry Bird is in the news thanks to his son. Yahoo Sports reported on Feb. 12 that Larry Bird's son, arrested by police in Bloomington, Ind., faces charges of allegedly trying to run over his ex-girlfriend with his car.
Police say that Connor Bird tried to run over the woman after several arguments. The charges include battery with injury, criminal mischief, intimidation with a deadly weapon and possession of marijuana. The fights allegedly began at Connor's apartment, and the battery began when he threw his cell phone at the woman.
Bird than approached the woman at her home and took her into a parking lot to talk. That is where another fight broke out and the woman got out of his car to walk home. At that point, Bird allegedly tried to run her over twice with his car. A Indiana University student witnessed the event as it took place.
This was not Connor's first run in with the law. Larry Bird's son, arrested before in 2011, was charged at that time with under-aged drinking and disorderly conduct. These charges trump those in every way and Connor could face serious jail time if the charges stick.
