You probably love to LARP (live action role play) because it gives you a chance to be someone else for a while in a fun and safe environment. In LARP, there are many avenues available to you if you're interested in further developing skills.
If you're good at softball, for example, you're probably great at tossing spell packets (small, soft bags used as a representation of magic in some games). If you take fencing lessons in real life, perhaps you'd feel confident as a swordsman.
While LARP can encourage you to feel comfortable and develop your skills, consider trying something you don't normally do. In Seventh Kingdom IGE, there exists a bard (whose player was a music minor in college) and various merchants (whose players do not make their livings out of game as such, but enjoy making and selling costumes and bags nevertheless).
Beyond interacting and role playing, LARP is a way for you to try out new talents and develop them. If you play in an immersive game, your character may even be able to apprentice another or learn the skill in-game. While it might be less comfortable for you initially to try something new, LARPs can provide supportive environments for learning.
Have you ever tried using a completely new, different or uncharacteristic talent in a LARP?

It's a shame there's no way to delete such rude, unhelpful comments like the one below. If you think LARPing is so lame, why on earth are you reading an article about it?!
