LaRosa's Family Pizzeria hopes to open the first Knoxville location before the end of this year, according to the LaRosa's Pizzeria Social Media Director yesterday. The Cincinnati based restaurant signed a deal with Boudinot South LLC to bring the restaurant to Knoxville.
Buddy LaRosa opened his first restaurant in 1954 on the west side of Cincinnati, Ohio. Within a few years of opening, LaRosa's Family Pizzeria became popular for families and as the go to favorite for after high school football games.
Originally, the restaurant only sold pizzas made with Buddy's Aunt Dena's pizza recipe. Within a few years LaRosa's Family Pizzeria expanded it's menu to include pizzas, pastas, calzones and hoagys or submarine sandwiches. The baked hoagys include the Baked Buddy which has Capocolla ham, pepperoni, salami and provolone on a submarine roll which is baked and then topped with the LaRosa family pizza sauce, red onions and dill pickle.
The La Rosa's Family Pizzeria franchise in Knoxville will be located at the corner of Cedar Bluff Road and Kingston Pike in West Knoxville. Walgreen's and Carolina Ale House are already open at that intersection. Hardees will open on September 2. Housed in the same strip mall will be Casa Blanca Nail Bar and Tom & Chee, Tomato Soup and Grilled Cheese restaurant, which is also based out of Cincinnati, Ohio
