Offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil has committed to Ole Miss. Netting Tunsil over Alabama and Georgia is a huge get for Ole Miss, especially since he is the top-ranked offensive tackle coming out of high school. According to a report on Wednesday (Feb. 6), Tunsil was originally believed to have been going to either Alabama or Georgia, but it the end it was an official visit to Ole Miss that got the school its latest top recruit.
Speaking about his choice of schools to attend for college, Tunsil stated, "It was hard to go against Alabama and Georgia. When I told Coach (Hugh) Freeze I was going to Ole Miss, he started kissing me. I committed to them in my in-home visit. I told them, 'I want to be a Rebel.'" It's an amazing pick-up for the Rebels and he becomes the third five-star prospect that the school has signed this offseason.
Joining Tunsil for the 2013 college football season are wide receiver Laquon Treadwell and defensive end Robert Nkemdiche. Having Nkemdiche on one side of the ball and Tunsil on the other might just make Ole Miss a true contender in the SEC again. By convincing Laremy Tunsil to commit to Ole Miss, the school is now on a great track to improve upon its 7-6 record just a year ago.
