After much speculation and guessing games by many, H&M has confirmed that it is in fact collaborating with Lanvin for a collection of men's and women's clothing with a launch date of November 20 in North America and November 23 worldwide. The collection, designed by Alber Elbaz and Lanvin menswear designer Lucas Ossendrijver, will be unveiled on November 2 via a film on H&M's website.
“I have said in the past that I would never do a mass-market collection, but what intrigued me was the idea of H&M going luxury rather than Lanvin going public. I thought it was a smart concept so I say 'I do.' This has been an exceptional exercise, where two companies at opposite poles can work together because we share the same philosophy of bringing joy and beauty to men and women around the world.” Elbaz says while reflecting on the collection.
H&M is head over hills to introduce luxurious French designs to its loyal customers. Margareta van den Bosch, creative advisor at H&M, explains, " It is very much a Lanvin collection, using their cut and tailoring, with lots of focus on form and details for both women and men. The launch in November is going to be full of wonderful surprises.”
