Lanterns carry messages of hope and love off beyond the shore

This annual event is for the emotional part in all of us. Memorial Day is a day to remember our loved ones and this event, one that is fast becoming an annual tradition, is all about just that, and more.  It is also about giving thanks, or about whatever message you would like to send.

I read somewhere that someone received closure after the death of a loved one by participating in this event.  A lot of people do not know about this event but they have stepped-up the advertising this year.  We'll get the word out!

Lanterns floating off the shore of Ala Moana beach park in Honolulu

Messages are written on lamps and set afloat just off the shore.  If you're able to attend, this event will be a very uplifting and emotional experience.  Write your message and release them; set them free into the healing and loving waters of the Pacific.

This is a beautiful event and one that won't be much of a secret for very much longer!  If you're not here in Honolulu, then maybe you can plan your next vacation around Memorial Day next year so that you too can send your message(s) of love, faith or caring adrift off the shores of Honolulu.
