Born Jesusa Victoria Bautista on April 13, 1968, Lani Mercado is a Philippine actress who is married to actor and Senator Bong Revilla and is seen on GMA Network.

Lani is now the newly elected representative of the 2nd district of Cavite. She is among the forty new legislators who recently finished the course on "Effective Legislation and Governance” at the University of the Philippines.

The special legislation course is part of their preparations for their new jobs as lawmakers.

Lani ran for governor of Cavite in 2004 when her husband ran for the Philippine Senate. She lost.

Started showbiz at 13, she was discovered by Nora Calderon, aunt of Tirso Cruz III, who was then sidelining as talent scout.
