Autumn has not fully arrived with the change of colors in the tree’s in El Paso, TX completely, slowly one can see the visual change.
The weather has still been mild with a change of coolness at night.
The time can be now to prepare for the outdoor plants for the winter months, perhaps by moving any plant outdoors, that is moveable to another area outdoors, where it would be able to gather protection with a wall or keeping it free from the cold winter drafts that blow in. In addition, any plant that may need to be eventually moved indoors. It may be best to reserve a spot, now.
Any plant such as a "Holly" can be fertilized for the fall or any other plant that requires that attention it can be given now. Note, not all plants need to be fertilized now for it will cause them to stimulate growth when they need to go dormant to protect themselves for the winter.
Finding time to still water making sure the soil is kept during winter months, for plants are alive so they still need water.
These are just a few things that can help before colder days.
