Landon Donovan will play for the Los Angeles Galaxy in 2013

Landon Donovan has stated that will remain with the Los Angeles Galaxy for 2013. It was speculated that the soccer star was going to take an early retirement due to fatigue and lack of motivation.

Bleacher Report web page reported on Tuesday that the coach of the Galaxy, Bruce Arena, announced to the media that the captain of the team, Donovan, will return for the season of 2013.

Arena also commented that a return date has not been finalized. This was an implication that the Galaxy star might start the season a bit late, since the player has been asking for some time off due to fatigue.

Donovan had told the press last May that he was thinking of retirement. He had announced that he had been having problems with motivation.

The Galaxy striker has also had a long history of playing time since he was 16 years of age and claims that he has lately been overwhelmed with fatigue.

Landon Donovan accomplished the MLS title with the Los Angeles Galaxy for the second year straight, last year, and was named on the best XI MLS roster. The man still has the touch and could possibly still lead the Angeleno team to another title.
