As reported, the Galaxy won a home game in Carson, California, at the StubHub Center with an early goal.
The goal was made in the 3rd minute of the game as Landon Donovan took off on a two pass combo that started from the center of the field. Donovan picked the ball and shot from outside the box and put the ball into Vancouver’s net.
The goal was very impressive, as Vancouver’s goalkeeper flew to save it but could not get a finger on it.
The Galaxy held their composure and held the lead. However, the haunting of the Galaxy giving up late goals almost reared up its ugly head in the 87th minute of the game.
Kekuta Manneh shot a laser from outside the box and hit the Galaxy’s upper left side of the goal, as Panamania goalkeeper, Jaime Penedo, dove. The ball bounced back into the middle of the box onto Jordan Harvey’s feet.
The rebound shot by Harvey was miraculously saved by Penedo as the keeper got up and dove across the line to make a save that could be the MLS save of the week.
Penedo’s save in the 87th was as good as the Donovan’s goal. Also, the save could be a sign that the LA Galaxy is not letting anymore late goals into the net.
