Matthew Sweet's famous album becomes the inspiration for Girlfriend, which Actors Theatre will present starting Tuesday.
Girlfriend performances will take place each day, except Mondays, at various times between Jan. 29 and Feb. 17. All performances are to happen in the Pamela Brown Auditorium at Actors Theatre, located at 316 W Main Street in downtown Louisville.
Tickets for each show depend on the performance but range between $24 and $59. All tickets can be purchased at the Actors Theatre website, the Actors Theatre box office, or by calling the box office at 502-584-1205.
Based on Matthew Sweet's famous pop album, Girlfriend focuses on two boys in the 1950s from opposite sides of life. One is a social outcast, and the other is a jock in every sense of the word. The two go about discovering themselves and first love after high school and before the rest of their lives begin.
Girlfriend is recommended for those ninth grade and up due to strong language. More information on that show can be found at the Actors Theatre website.
