Landlord whips tenant for not paying rent (Video)

Top news coming in to a chilly San Francisco today is about a landlord who whipped his tenant.

The tenant had not paid his rent, says Fox News

The incident happened in Ohio on Thursday February 21, 2013.

The landlord, Ron Kronenberger has now been charged with assault and will now appear in court on Thursday in Warren County.

"That's horrific news. I wonder why the tenant subjected himself to it," says San Francisco resident, Katie Adler.

The amount of rent in question is $2,800 and police in the tiny village of Waynesville say that Kronenberger took a belt to the tenant, saying: "If you're going to act like a child, I'm going to treat you like one."

The landlord then proceeded to hit the tenant four times. According to the Dayton Daily News Kronenberger had been Waynesville's Citizen of the Year back in 2006.

Why did the tenant submit to the punishment? Apparently, "he was scared and just wanted to get it over with," says Fox News.

The action by the landlord, Ron Kronenberger could lead to jail time if the courts decide this is the right thing to do.
