A free, fun-filled day of aviation is returning to Albuquerque on September 6. The 24th annual 'Land of Enchantment Fly In and Airport Open House' is taking place at Double Eagle II Airport. New Mexicans will have a chance to see aircrafts that have been flown in from all over the state for display at the event. Come prepared to view aircrafts such as airplanes and helicopters, but also military vehicles and classic cars. These will be static and not proving an air show. "Expected aircraft highlights include the Chile Flight (formation flying team), a 1942 Fairchild PT-26, helicopters, gliders, ultralights, and remote controlled." You will also get to meet pilots, builders and restorers of aircrafts.
Participate with the judges in judging the aircrafts on quality and design. There will also be exhibits for participants of all ages to explore the world of aviation and have fun while learning. It is a free event open to the public with plenty to see and do. The 'Land of Enchantment Fly In and Airport Open House' will open at 8 am and last until 3pm on Saturday September 6. Be sure to get there early, because in addition to the aircraft displays, exhibits and judging, there is also the incentive of free food. Breakfast will have free pancakes and for lunch, burgers will be served. While there is no cost to the participants, donations are greatly appreciated.
This day is a great opportunity for those who love airplanes, helicopters and aviation to get up close to real aircrafts from all across New Mexico who flew in for this special day.
