It looks like former Austin Toros' starters Lance Thomas and Carldell Johnson have made the New Orleans 2011-12 opening day roster.
The Toros announced the news via their Twitter account late Saturday evening.
Thomas, a 6-8, 225-pound power forward from Duke, was averaging 17.3 points and 10.5 rebounds while shooting 54.3% from the field in four games for Austin before being invited to the Hornets' 2011-12 training camp.
In two preseason games for the Hornets this year the bruising forward averaged 3.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.0 steal and .5 blocks in 22.5 minutes of action.
Johnson, a 5-10, 180-pound point guard out of Alabama-Birmingham, was averaging 14.8 points and 4.8 assists per game for the Toros this season before entering training camp with the Hornets.
With New Orleans he put in 6.0 points and 2.5 assists per game on 3-of-7 shooting from the field and 6-of-6 from the free throw line during the preseason.
Johnson averaged 16 minutes of playing time in two preseason games.
