The troubles continue for Lance Armstrong.
According to a Feb. 7 Associated Press release, SCA Promotions, a Dallas advertising company, has sued Lance Armstrong in attempt to recoup a sum of $12 million in bonuses the company paid him for winning the Tour de France.
SCA is seeking a return of the money, plus fees and interest, now that Armstrong has admitted he used performance-enhancing drugs.
The suit was filed Thursday in Dallas district court.
In 2005, SCA attempted to withhold the bonus amid doping allegations against the cyclist.Ultimately, they settled with Armstrong in arbitration and the money was rewarded.
Now SCA alleges Armstrong's admission to doping is akin to a conspiracy to cheat and defraud the company of millions.
"By now, everyone knows that Lance Armstrong perpetuated what may well be the most outrageous, cold-hearted and elaborate lie in the history of sports," says the lawsuit.
Armstrong’s agent Bill Stapleton is also listed as a defendant.
