The ongoing debate may come finally be coming to an end, and it may get ugly. Was bicycle legend Lance Armstrong juicing during his incredible Tour de France run? Fans of Armstrong must be saying to themselves "Say it ain't so Joe!"
The rumors and allegations of Armstrong using steroids have been going on for years, but now Armstrong wants to set the record straight, finally.
According to boston.com, "The New York Times reported Friday that Lance Armstrong, who has strongly denied the doping charges that led to him being stripped of his seven Tour de France titles, has told associates he is considering admitting to the use of performance-enhancing drugs."
Of course this is coming from the all so infamous anonymous source, but the source is saying that Armstrong was considering a confession to help restore his athletic career in triathlons and running events.
KABC reported today, Jan. 5, that Armstrong attorney Tim Herman has "denied that Armstrong has reached out to USADA chief executive Travis Tygart and David Howman, director general of the World Anti-Doping Agency."
So we are back to the he said, she said.
Steroid use has brought down many great athlete's reputations over the past decade and it looks like we are about to officially add Armstrong to the list.
If Armstrong did use steroids, do you think that takes away from his accomplishments? If Armstrong does admit that he using using performance enhancing drugs, does he deserve another shot at competing?
