Armstrong is untamed, crude and amoral, projecting his own bestiality onto those who were closest to him, make him deceitful and ambiguous. Armstrong admitted that doping to win, blaming and suing the people who told the truth was a terrible ‘sick’ thing on his part. He wanted his side of the "doping-to-win 7 Tour de France races" story told, as he dominated the interview with Oprah Winfrey.
Carl Jung once wrote, “A person’s life is characteristic of the person, because what is happening on the outside is linked to what is happening on the inside.”
Still ego driven?
At worst Armstrong is power-driven, pushy and dangerous. Intolerant of limitation and certain that he is right, he is unquestionably a bad loser. He mention that “the others” who came forward to confess only got six months’ worth of ban time from cycling, while he got a life time ban. They who came forward right way and gave names, something Lance Armstrong has not been willing to do. Bullying and harassing trainers, teammates, and their wives wasn’t on their agenda either. As for the lifetime ban, if that is all he is getting out of this whole doping scheme then Armstrong is lucky, because he has not been made to pay restitution to the people he libeled and took money from in partnership over the titles he stole.
Armstrong admits no conscious and he can’t be trusted
Lance admitted while doing all of the things he did to dope and hide it, he felt no remorse and it never occurred to him to think otherwise. When Oprah asked him what the heck was on his mind when he sent out the’ Tweeted’ picture of his seven jerseys and himself laying on the couch, mind you that was just a few weeks ago, he said he thought it was a good idea. Armstrong didn’t think it was a bad idea until he got the entire backlash from fans, who walked away, and the public for it.
Armstrong says he’s a fighter and his back has been against the wall growing up
It’s part of who Lance is, but it’s no excuse to step on other people’s all over lives to get what you want. His excuse, in his own words it was over a $75 million sponsorship, that time. The two greatest challenges any man has to face are desire and aggression and they are only overcome by the development of character and developing faculties which help you to deal with life’s great range of experiences.
Armstrong gave quite a sob story over his son sticking up for him at school
We shouldn’t feel sorry for Lance, or his son, because it is something he should have thought of long ago when he began doping. What about the children of those he sued for libel? Armstrong also said he told his son to tell the boy who was saying things to hurt his son, that Armstrong was sorry. That is pitiful and pathetic to say the least. It is not up to the son to do the cleanup and to apologize for what his father has done. That burden does not rest on his young 13-year-old shoulders.
In the end Armstrong is worried that his coming forward will have been for nothing
Is he tortured by his suspension, and his not being able to enter into any race that is sanctioned? Only those who had Armstrong’s wrath to deal with over the years can hope. Justice is not possible unless you respect fairness and truth as important ethical principles. Ethical principles which stand as firm guidelines for choice.
Lance Armstrong a combination of constantly warring, charming, good salesman, physical prowess, a flair for the dramatic and a brilliant mind, although it was wasted on checquered and turbulent feats. He managed to persuade independent and intelligent people his quest was worth promulgating and making manifest, a selfish, impulsive fiery individual at his worst, infected the world.
