Lance Armstrong finishes in 2nd place at the Panama Ironman, 70.3 distance. 42 seconds behind 1st place finisher, Bevan Docherty, who remains undefeated at this distance.
Armstrong plans to use several more Ironman Triathlons to acclimate himself for the big kahuna, Hawaii Ironman, also known simply as Kona, later this year. The next on his schedule is Ironman France, which is the full distance, 140.6 miles, just like Kona.
According to his tweets and press releases, Armstrong's return to triathlon, particularly the Ironman circuit, is a means to raise awareness and money for his Livestrong Foundation, which inspires and empowers people affected by cancer.
