Lance Armstrong

And other deadly sins.

Maybe this column is slow. Or not a sports fan so is immune to fits of anger about, well, sports. Perhaps, there is simply no more outrage left.

But how exactly is the world ending now that Lance Armstrong has confessed what many folks already suspected?

Is he still an incredible athlete? Yes. Do other cyclists take drugs? Yes. Did he raise millions for cancer research? Again, yes.

How would most of the Tour de France cyclists fare with drug tests? How long would most other athletes last on the Tour de France?

Was he lying? Okay, yes.

Did he molest children under the calm gaze of the Catholic Church?

Did he single-handedly block gun reform for years while countless fatal scenarios played out?

Did he lie and invade Iraq? Did he not properly prepare our military and then invade Iraq? Did he invade Iraq with no plans to treat wounded soldiers?

Does he sit smugly on the Supreme Court, mute and predictable with clear conflict of interest issues?

Did he ruin the economy? Did he insist on getting bailed out and then paid millions of dollars in bonuses after he ruined the economy?

Did he torture anyone? Waterboard or demand rendition? How about Bradley Manning? Is Armstrong calling the shots inre that case?

Did he, as the CEO of the criminal enterprise Countrywide Mortgage, skate away with a relatively small fine and no jail time?

Did he work for HSBC bank and craft the ways to launder drug money?

Has he opened fire on a group of strangers? Corollary: did he shot someone and claim stand your ground?

Did he ruminate about legitimate rape?

Did he call teachers thugs and try to break up unions?

Did he take huge buckets of dollars for disaster relief needed in his state but vote not to help other regions?

Did he demand the President show his birth certificate, passport or school transcripts?

Has he ever worked for Bain Capital?

Is he currently harassing the man who helped some children in Newtown after their teacher and some classmates were killed?

is he poisoning our food? Did he appoint a Monsanto VP to the FDA?

Frankly, this column could go on this way for days.

Grow up America and move on. In fact, focus rage toward any item in the roster listed above.
