Lancaster to hold two day Roots & Blues Festival

The Lancaster Roots & Blues Festival is bringing an amazing lineup to Lancaster next month. This two-day event will take place 21 & 22 February. Artists include Shrimpboat, Postmodern Jukebox, Laney Jones, Frog Holler, and the Lively Spirits, Beth Sorrentino, Loudon Wainwright III, James Cotton, and so many more! In fact, there are over 50 confirmed artists scheduled to perform.

WHAT:

The Lancaster Roots & Blues Festival presents music on multiple stages.

WHEN:

Friday, 21 February & Saturday, 22 February.

WHERE:

Venues are located throughout the City. They are: Tellus360, the Chameleon Club, the Federal Taphouse, the Ware Center, and the Convention Center. With the exception of the Taphouse, each venue will offer two stages.

ADMISSION:

Tickets range in price from $40 to $169. Readers can purchase tickets online or in person at Tellus360, 24 East King Street.

HELPFUL TO KNOW:

With the exception of the Ware Center, all venues are restricted to those 21+. It is not a kid friendly or family friendly event. It is billed as a non smoking event. Venues are wheelchair accessible.

HOTELS and TRAVEL:

Lancaster is home to many hotels and Bed & Breakfasts. There are numerous lodging choices just outside the City as well. For a greater listing, visit www.padutchcountry.com.

PARKING:

Lancaster City offers several secure parking garages. Five of them accept both cash and credit. They are: the Prince Street Garage, Duke Street Garage, Penn Square Garage, East King Street Garage and the Queen Street Garage. Those five charge $2 for the first hour, $2 for the second hour and $1 for each additional hour. The five garages also offer a $5 after 5 special which runs from 5 p.m. Friday through Sunday. There is another garage on Water Street. That one is cash only and charges a flat $5 fee to be paid upon entering the garage. On street parking is also available.

Many groups and organizations have joined together to sponsor this exciting event. The Mayor’s Office of Special Events (MOOSE), Fig Magazine, Series 42, Gigspots.com, Tristate Indie, Switch It Up Designs, Vogel marketing Solutions, and WXPN.

VOLUNTEERS:

A festival this size uses a lot of volunteers. Volunteers are needed as green room managers, merchandise sales, loaders, stage techs, ticketing and wrist banding, and transportation. Volunteers will receive a staff shirt and free admission for the evening they are not working.
